Sphinx is a flame retardant blackout curtain fabric supplied by the linear metre, with a coated 3-pass blackout backing and a broad commercial colour palette. Designed for drapery where you need strong light control alongside contract-use fire performance (see specifications).

Expectation setting: This is a blackout fabric. However, blackout fabric alone does not guarantee a totally dark room—light can still seep around the edges depending on fitting, headings and installation. For specification-critical projects, review the details in the spec tab and confirm site requirements before manufacture.
Sphinx is a coated blackout curtain fabric with a 3-pass blackout coating to help deliver strong light control with a practical handle and good drapeability. It is supplied in 140cm or 280cm widths and ordered by the linear metre, making it suitable for both smaller refurbishments and larger installations.
The fabric is described as having a stain, soil and water-resistant finish to the face and a care route that includes washing at 30°C (see the specification tab for full care guidance). The blackout coating is an off-white backing and is also described as reflecting heat out of a window when curtains are drawn.
Thermal performance is noted in the source content as 30% heat retention when used over a double glazed window, helping support seasonal comfort in occupied rooms (see notes and project suitability below).

This fabric is coated with a 3pass blackout coating. This means it has been sealed 3 times and to ensure that the material is totally blackout. The coating is an off white coating which reflects heat out of a window when the curtains are drawn.
