Both the standard and heavy duty motors are available factory bent to fit bay windows. The track can be internally bent and reverse bent at a radius of 20cm, and continuously curved for rounded bays.

Bay window tracks are supplied on a bespoke quote basis because the bends are specific to your window layout. We need your bay measurements or a dimensioned sketch to confirm the specification and price.

How do I work out which motor I need? ⌄
Calculate the total weight of your curtains: flat width × drop × fabric weight per m² in kg. Add around 200g/m² for a standard lining. Under 35kg — standard motor. Over 35kg — heavy duty. If you are unsure, contact us with the fabric name and curtain size and we will advise.
Do I need an electrician to install an electric curtain track? ⌄
Both motors are plug-and-go and connect to a standard socket or a spurred socket. A spurred socket gives a cleaner finish with no visible cable and should be done by a qualified electrician, but is not required — a standard plug works fine for most installations.
Does the standard motor work with Alexa and Google Home? ⌄
Yes. The standard motor has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built in, so it connects directly to the Forest Connect app and supports Alexa and Google Home without any additional hardware. The heavy duty motor requires the optional Shuttle Wi-Fi dongle for app and voice control.
Can the track be bent to fit a bay window? ⌄
Yes. Both motors are available with factory-bent track to suit your bay layout — internal bends, reverse bends, and continuous curves for rounded bays. Send us your measurements or a dimensioned sketch and we will quote within one working day.
What happens if there is a power cut? ⌄
The motor de-clutches from the track automatically on power loss, so the curtains can be moved by hand without forcing or damaging the motor. Normal motorised operation resumes automatically when power is restored.
Is the track compatible with wave heading curtains? ⌄
Yes. Both motors are compatible with wave heading curtains. The evenly spaced gliders maintain the wave profile consistently across the full width, including after repeated opening and closing.
What does the 10-year warranty cover? ⌄
The warranty covers motor and track components against manufacturing defects for 10 years from the date of purchase. Valid for both domestic and commercial installations.
Can I order just the track without curtains? ⌄
Yes — tracks are sold separately and made to your specified length. If you also need curtains, we manufacture made-to-measure curtains in-house and can supply track and curtains together.
