Expectation setting: These are heavyweight wool curtains designed for acoustic control and visual impact. They are not blackout unless a suitable lining is specified.
British milled wool serge for acoustic and contract environments
Our Coloured Wool Serge Acoustic Flame Retardant Curtains are manufactured from 100% pure new wool with a finished weight of 460g/m² ±5%. The fabric is British milled and stock supported.
Certified to BS5867.2 Type B and BS EN 1021 1 & 2 (Cigarette & Match), this curtain solution is suitable for commercial interiors where fire performance is required. Optional treatments are available where BS5852 Crib 5 compliance is specified.
The wool serge construction provides recognised acoustic performance, achieving an absorption rating of 0.65 (C rating) when unlined. It also offers inherent thermal qualities associated with heavyweight wool fabrics.

Excellent service from Direct FabricsExcellent service from Direct Fabrics. We needed an acoustic curtain to muffle sound between two rooms at our hall, and our contact at Direct Fabrics couldn’t have been more helpful - and patient, as getting a group of people to decide on colour, let alone type of fabric, took quite a lot of going to and fro for quotes with several changes on our part. Delivery timing was efficient, although the courier was unable to tell the difference between a greenhouse and a conservatory as the alternative delivery option resulting in the curtains staying out in the rain unnecessarily - fortunately they were well wrapped in plastic inside the cardboard box. Highly recommended anyway, as this was hardly Direct Fabrics’ fault.0 people found this helpful
