Key features
- Heavy duty aluminium profile designed for large and heavy curtains
- Roller runners for smooth, low-friction operation
- 12 runners per linear metre as standard
- 1kg load per runner (capacity depends on size and fitting method)
- Ceiling fix or wall fix brackets available
- Supplied as a complete kit for one installation
Performance note
Capacity is only as strong as the fixings and substrate. For heavy curtains, use correct anchors for plasterboard, masonry or timber, and increase bracket quantity where needed.
Why choose our heavy duty metal curtain track
Ceiling or wall mounted heavy duty curtain track
The Direct Fabrics heavy duty hand drawn curtain track can be top-fixed or face-fixed as standard. Its square-profile aluminium design is built for large or heavy curtains and delivers reliable day-to-day performance in both contract and domestic environments.
Roller runners are supplied at 12 per linear metre. Each runner is rated to 1kg, so a 400cm track typically includes 48 runners. Correct fitting, bracket spacing and suitable fixings are where most real-world performance is won.
This track is a strong choice for schools, theatres, village halls and large domestic windows where smooth hand-drawn operation matters.
Glider options
Choose the right runner for your heading style and the finish you want.
80mm wave glider
For wave heading curtains only. Fixed 80mm spacing for an even, consistent wave.
Roller runners (standard)
Ideal for pencil pleat, pinch pleat and tape headings where smooth travel is the priority.
Suitable applications
- Hotel bedroom curtains
- Theatre surround curtains
- Front of house stage curtains (approx max 10m x 4m at double fullness, contact the team to confirm)
- Village hall curtain tracks
- School hall surround curtains
- Large domestic windows
Benefits
A robust, made-to-measure aluminium track for heavier curtains, supplied as a complete kit. Works for ceiling or wall fixing and can be specified for wave where required. A dependable choice for contract installs that need strength and smooth operation.
Mounting brackets
Wave curtains often need extra clearance from the wall. Larger brackets can be provided to accommodate wave returns and reduce wall contact. If you need an extension wall bracket (100 to 150mm), contact the team.
At-a-glance specification
- Maximum curtain weight: up to 40kg (depends on installation and bracket spacing)
- Runners supplied: 12 per linear metre
- Runner rating: 1kg per runner
- Fixing: ceiling (top fix) or wall (face fix)
- Operation: hand drawn
- Supply: complete kit for one installation
Need help sizing?
If you are unsure on bracket quantity, projection for wave curtains, or you have very heavy curtains or long spans, contact the team and share your track length, fixing surface, and curtain weight estimate.

Jane was super helpful answering all my…Jane was super helpful answering all my questions and helping me get the right curtains for my window. The quality of the curtains is great and Janes advice on how to measure etc means they fit perfectly. They were easy to install as well which was a relief! Only thing I would recommend to anyone else getting the acoustic backed curtains is because they are so thick, I think they would be better with more than the recommended 30cm at the end of the rails for the gather.0 people found this helpful
